Other activities
In addition to leading the Oak Spring Garden Foundation and prior appointments at the Field Museum, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and Yale University I devote considerable effort to supporting the programs and development of other institutions. This has mainly involved Board service and participating in, and often chairing, external reviews, as well as supporting a variety of conservation iniatives. Currently I serve on the Board of Trustees of the Field Museum in Chicago and Yale-NUS college in Singapore. Since 2019 I have also chaired the Executive Board of the Global Crop Diversity Trust based in Bonn, Germany. These responsibilities and selected other recent activities are listed below.

Senior Research Scientist
Peter Crane served as the Carl W. Knobloch Jr., Dean of the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies from 2009 until 2016. He continues to work with the School as a Senior Research Scientist. Read more about Peter’s work at Yale here.
Crop Trust
Chair of the Executive Board
Sir Peter Crane served on the Crop Trust Executive Board from 2007-2012, before returning in 2014. In 2019, he succeeded Ambassador Tim Fischer as Chair of the Executive Board. Read more about his work with the Crop Trust here.
