Romano beans are a type of Italian string bean and can be treated almost exactly like any other green/string bean. Romano beans taste almost identical to green beans but have a flatter, broader pea pod. Like all string beans, we do recommend stringing the pods before eating. If you prefer to not string your peas, allow for extra cooking time. Romano beans can be boiled, sauteed, steamed, braised and grilled.
