Chinese plumb yew (Cephalotaxus fortunei)
It was very nice to see two interesting conifers planted on the west side of the Museum. The Chinese Plum Yew - Cephalotaxus fortunei - native to China and northern Myanmar and the Umbrella Pine - Sciadopitys verticillata - native to Japan. In both cases the close-ups show the preformed pollen cones that will expand and release their pollen in a few months.
